Dennis Moreland Cowboy DM Tack Braided Rawhide Browband Vaquero HeadstallThis Dennis Moreland Cowboy Tack Browband Headstall with Rawhide, Black. and Red Ring Knots is made of doubled and stitched 5/8 inch race track harness leather lined with oil-tanned lining leather. The headstall is in very lightly used pre owned condition. The cheek pieces and browband are beautifully accented with hand braided rawhide with black and red kangaroo ring knots on the cheeks and browband. The beveled stainless steel buckles have braided rawhide keepers underneath for the cheek piece straps. The leather beneath the buckles is hand sewn together to keep the buckles from slipping during adjustments. This leather is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The rawhide is treated with rawhide cream. The headstall adjusts from 31.5 inches to 40.5 inches with room to punch more holes to make it smaller or larger as needed.
Race track harness is a very dense, fine grained leather which makes this headstall strong but flexible. This is the best leather DM Tack can purchase. The lining leather feels good against the horse’s face and the leather is split to the correct thickness before being doubled and stitched making this headstall no thicker than a single ply leather headstall. This makes it more durable and longer lasting than a single ply headstall and it has that good feel in your hands and on the horse. The impeccable braiding is done by a master of rawhide braiding.
This is a beautiful piece for work or show and is stunning on your snaffle bit colt!
This is well made piece of training tack with a makers mark "Cowboy Tack" as shown. This quality piece of tack will give you many years of additional use and is a necessary addition to any training program.
Dennis Moreland started his hand made tack business in 1976 when he was a young cowboy and realized the need to have safe, well made, functional horse tack readily available to riders. In 1990 Dennis Moreland Enterprises evolved into Cowboy Tack. A pioneer in his own right, the specialization Dennis applied to his business allowed him to be innovative and creative when it came to designs. Breaking new ground, he introduced a number of firsts to the tack manufacturing world, like the use of high quality harness leather, that are industry standards today.
In addition to his lifelong love for horses, Dennis’ daily riding and training, along with regular showing, gives him the knowledge and understanding of what works well on a horse. This allows him to design and craft the hand-made equipment that riders require. Whenever you are on the back of a horse you are 100% dependent on the tack you use. Dennis has worked closely with professional trainers and horsemen to design and test the equipment for functionality, fit, and durabilit
