Description
This is a very common Esterbrook SJ fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1950s.It comes with a factory prototype tubular nib.
The nib screws in but it was made from a threaded tube with a feed inside like a Sheaffer Triumph nib.
I could not unscrew the nib [it is stuck].
There is a piece of tape on the barrel that is marked: "Lounsberry Tubular Pen".
I searched Newspapers.com for a Lounsberry connected with Esterbrook.
I could not find the right person.
Almost everyone with that name lived in Camden NJ but the obits did not contain what I was looking for.
There is tape residue on the cap, but the tape fell off a long time ago.
15-20 years ago, I purchased a lot of Esterbrook material that came from the manager of the Esterbrook repair center.
I am sifting through it now and sorting it out.
I have some rare pieces that I will be listing.
I am not affiliated with the new Esterbrook pen company.
I sell vintage pens and parts.
Check out my 10,000 plus positive feedback.
