Schafer Stadium Beer Coaster, circa 1970s

$ 7.91

  • Restocking Fee: No
  • Condition: This vintage beer coaster was only used as a display item. I have had this cardboard coaster since the 1970s and it is in good shape with a very minute crease and a couple of minor indentations. Pretty good for a fragile paper item that maybe nearly 50 years old. The coaster is round and has a diameter of five inches. The coaster will be shipped in a vintage 1990s plastic diskette case.

    Description

    Schafer Stadium in Foxborough was the home of the New England Patriots between 1971 and 1983, when the name was changed to Sullivan Stadium. Schafer/Sullivan Stadium was demolished in 2002 and replaced by Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place Shopping Center in 2002.  Schafer Beer was very popular in the 1970s, but started to  disappear after the Schafer Family sold the company in 1981.  So this coaster represents a bygone stadium and beer.
