Vintage Carlton Ware England Rouge Royale Mikado Hand Painted Pitcher

Description

Vintage Carlton Ware England Rouge Royale Mikado Hand Painted Pitcher.  The pitcher has a hand painted oriental scene of a garden, pagoda, birds and tea house.  The background is a burgundy there is a very nice gold painted loop handle.  The edge of the pitcher has a decorative gold border.  The inside is a yellow lusterware and the base finish on the outside also looks like a lusterware.   The pitcher measures approximately 6 inches at the highest.  The pitcher is signed on the bottom with the Carlton Ware Rouge Royale England logo.  Some of the paint has the jewel technique where the paint is raised to create the 3D effect. This may have been used for wine or spirits. On the side of the pitcher with the pagoda there is either some paint at the bottom or a loss of glaze.  The pitcher is in good vintage condition.
