    Description

    Vintage Carlton Ware Rouge Royale Cigarette Box Base Only/Dish **NO LID**.
    This item could also be used as trinket or soap dish.
    Dark red/burgundy or maroon lustre finish to the outside and a white multi-color opalescent finish to the inside.
    'Gold' gilt trim at the top edge of the box.
    Rectangle in shape and measures approximately 5" long x 3 1/2" wide x 1 1/4" deep.
    Script Carlton Ware backstamp on this item was used from 1926-1987. It is yellow/gold in color which was used in the latter part of this time frame.
    Paper sticker also present on underside stating 3965/Carlton Ware/1398.
    Condition: There is some crazing to the underside of the box and to the interior of the box, I do not notice any crazing on the outside. There is also some wear to the 'gold' trim especially on the top edge of the box. There is NO LID - just box/base only.
    Very pretty Hollywood Regency-esque piece to add to an end table or dresser where you can "drop" anything you like for safe keeping.
